Senator Graham supports the program that allows undocumented immigrants a path to legal residency if they make restitution by paying a $2,000 fine plus back taxes, provide proof of continuous employment, learn English and stay out of trouble with the law.
It still blows me away the logic on this concept. Why are we not enforcing the laws today? I understand they illegal immigrants are here and that the laws have been neglected for the most part to-date. However, why can't we start, today, enforcing those laws? These individuals are here illegally so they have broken laws in doing so. They have broken laws by forging government documents. Yet, if joe-American were to do the same, the book would be thrown at them. Why is the government so afraid to enforce the laws that are on the books today?
